ow that we know what Single Wicket is, here are some rules and regulations you need to follow to qualify for the ŠKODA Single Wicket Tournament:
  • Each Participant will be paired with an Opponent and both individuals will have to Bat & Bowl for 2 overs respectively.
  • The Participant and the respective Opponent will take turns to Bat & Bowl alternatively against each other.
  • 22 yards of pitch will be used for gameplay.
  • Each game will have 10 neutral fielders.
  • Each Participant will be scored basis batting and bowling.
  • Usual rules of Cricket will apply once the over begins.
  • The goal for each Participant as a Batsman is to score maximum runs.
  • As a Bowler, the main aim will be to take the maximum wickets and limit the batsman’s runs to the maximum extent.
  • Participants will be briefed on the scoring pattern before the start of the match.
  • Regular rules of Extras will apply. Runs will be added to the batsman’s score. No Balls & Wides shall not be counted as Balls & the Batsman will be awarded 1 run in that case.
  • The bowler’s action is of vital importance. Ball must be bowled as per the rules of Cricket & not chucked.
  • Each time the batsman gets OUT, it will result in a deduction of 2 runs to the Batsman’s score.
  • Run-out rules will comply as well as caught behind & other OUT rules for the batsman and will be counted as negative 2 runs for the batsman.
  • Leg Before Wicket will be considered as OUT & the Certified Umpire’s decision will be final and will be counted as negative 2 runs for the Batsman.
  • Bowlers will have to keep the time between the deliveries minimal and the umpire’s decision in this case will be final.
  • The Participant with the highest runs will be deemed the winner and proceed to the next round.
